Very Hot Models Body & Uniforms sets Part 1

Well besides buying boxed figure sets where the figure comes with a preset uniform , some companies choose to let the modeller/collector to make their own choice options. The market leader in this respect is Very Hot Toys.

Very Hot Toys carry over 50 various  figure accessory sets , full uniforms , equipment & weaponry for various figures , everything from Jet pilots Carrier deck crew , to elite combat soldiers to SWAT , FBI to Private Military Contractors . What makes the range more impressive is that Very Hot also make a range of 19 individual figures which allows the modeller to select the head sculpt and figure to go with an accessory set allowing a myriad of different combinations to make every modellers figure to be very much more a custom selection . Added to this that each of the different 19 options of head choices are available separately . This allows people the luxury of doing their own custom head painting also , with the knowledge that a botched paint job , their is always a brand new head option available.

Now these bodies are  the very anatomically flexible latest generation type , with the same type of flexibility as our own bodies , therefore the are capable of very closely replicating our own bodies movements and therefore poses . I just got my first two Very Hot figures and two , what I think are appropriate figure sets from Very Hot also . The figures I have got are V-001 who I think has a very close resemblance to Jason Statham , for this project I have him earmarked for someone who has gone well off the rails & V-010 who looks very much like the standard bearded DEVGRU SEAL which is just what he is going to be .

The elbows and knees have double hinge joints so that the arms and knees can flex as close to the normal limits that human joints can , meaning that unlike the old single articulate joints which could not bend much further than ninety degrees , these joints can bend a lot further enabling figures to kneel properly and bend their arms back in a more realistic fashion than the old figures .

The figures can now hinge thru the torso and on some of the head sculpts the neck articulates at the shoulders and now at the base of the head , allowing a figure to sight down a weapon without bending its head off at a slope to the side and also a figure can now sight down a weapon while lying prone rather than looking at the ground as before . So if you specifically want a figure lying prone , firing , then these are the figures you are looking for .

The latest generation figures can sight along a weapon in  a prone position as you can see , earlier generation figures with less articulation just stare at the ground .

Now here comes the most impressive bit , each figure comes with two sets of hands , one flatter open set and one set molded to hold a weapon , not only that but these hands are compatible with Dam & Soldier Story figures so if you have any worries with compatibility , you shouldn't . Moreover the individual heads should fit straight on your existing DAM figures bodies , meaning you can change the character of existing figures with little effort . SWEEEET !

Now an added bonus with most of the Figure Accessory uniform sets is that the figures usually come with figure hands with moulded on gloves and boots with molded in feet , these simply just plug into the removable feet sockets and hand sockets of the Very Hot figure . The extra hands can be kept in the "second hand box" (hehehehe) for future projects .

Each of the figures come with two sets of hands , one set closed (gripping a weapon) and one set open , the gloved hands are the one available in the Bankrobber outfit . The figures come with bare feet but the bankrobber outfit has boots that fit in place instead of the original feet .

The figures also come with bulked out thighs which simply slip over the existing thighs , Personally I would do a test fit of the individual uniform with and without them, whichever fits and looks better is what I would use but I do think if the bulked out thighs are the way you want to go , then I find supergluing them in place stops them slipping down and interfering with the knee joint is the best option . Of course this is a permanent option and I advise leaving them to set properly before dressing the figure in his new uniform .

The figures come with "Bulked out" thighs , The figure to the left is wearing them and they are shown seperate to the figure on the right . I advise test fitting them to see if they fit on the figure when clothed and if so I would super glue them in situ so they do not slide down the leg and interfere with the knee articulation .

Now one of the things that you may like to do is give your figures a bit of extra character , and to demonstrate one of the easiest ways to do this , we will give both of these figures a little bit of body art . Archer Transfers do some real nice tattoos to give your figures . They also do a range of eyeballs,  these figures have beautifully painted headsculpts , but keep them in mind with some of the more poorly painted headsculpts out there .
